Every year, CDE Club hosts a series of elections for representatives of its management committee. All CDE undergraduate students are eligible to run and be nominated for any of the available positions:

ARE THERE ANY Pre-requisiteS?
There is no pre-requisite to be in the CDE Club Management Committee, except that upon election, he/she is required to perform and learn on the job leadership, management, communication, processes and procedures of the Club, and day to day execution of his/her portfolio.
Can i change my decision?
You can pull out of elections at any point in time, just let us know!
The positions you include in your nomination form is not final, you will only make your final decision during the Internal Elections.

what are the roles & Responsibilities?
All Management Committee Members are expected to play a support role in NUS Student’s Design & Engineering Club’s events when needed.
Presidential Cell
President
-
Represent CDE Club and the College in the NUS Students’ Union (NUSSU) as the Faculty Club President and participate in NUSSU Council discussions to advocate for CDE undergraduates' welfare and interests
-
Work in tandem with the Presidential Cell to make decisions concerning the policies, direction and management of the Club
-
Liaise with the CDE Office of Student Life, CDE Deanery, NUSSU, and other university bodies to ensure the smooth operations of the Club and to uphold the interests of CDE undergraduates
-
Oversee the preparation and submission of Residence Admission Scheme (RAS) nominations, in recognition of students’ contributions to the Club
-
Support and collaborate with the Presidents of CDE subsidiary clubs and societies in official capacities.

Responsible for ensuring that the Club adheres to its mission and vision, and represents the interests of CDE undergraduates
-
Call General Meetings and Management Committee meetings
-
Hold a casting vote at Management Committee meetings as Chairperson. In the absence of the President, a Management Committee Member, who shall neither be a co-opted Member nor the General Secretary of the Club, shall serve as Chairperson and shall hold the casting vote

The President must be elected by the student body and cannot be co-opted into the role

Vice President (Internal)

Head the Internal Cell, and is responsible for its training and development, event execution, and routine operations
-
Supervise and serve as the advisor to the Academic Affairs, Sports, Welfare and Special Project Committees

Support, represent, and coordinate the Internal Cell’s activities within the cell, across other cells, and with faculty, university, and external organizations
-
Assist the President of the Club in the exercise of their duties, powers and responsibilities
-
Liaise with the CDE Office of Student Life, CDE Deanery and respective department offices, on matters pertaining to students’ physical, mental, and academic well-being
-
Exercise all powers and duties of the President in their absence, and assume the Presidency for the remainder of the term or until a new President is elected if the position becomes vacant

Vice President (External)

Drive the External Cell’s collective mission to represent and uphold the good reputation of the Club
-
Head the External Cell, and is responsible for its training and development, event execution, and routine operations

Supervise and serve as the advisor to the International Relations, External Relations, Marketing and Student Engagement Committees
-
Support, represent, and coordinate the External Cell’s activities within the cell, across other cells, and with faculty, university, and external organizations
-
Liaise with external organisations and corporations on collaboration opportunities to benefit the CDE undergraduates
-
Assist the President of the Club in the exercise of their duties, powers and responsibilities
-
Succeed the President of the Club for the remainder of the term of office as the President of the Club in the event that the position falls vacant and when the role of Vice President (Internal) is vacant, or until a new President of the Club is elected
Vice President (Student Life)
-
Head the Student Life Cell, and is responsible for its training and development, event execution, and routine operations
-
Supervise and serve as the advisor to the Orientation Week, Camp, RAG, and Community Outreach Committees
-
Oversee FOP events (CDE Orientation Week, RAG & FLAG, CDE Camp), community involvement projects, and ensure continuous improvement in quality, inclusivity, and outreach for all freshmen programmes
-
Support, represent, and coordinate the Internal Cell’s activities within the cell, across other cells, and with faculty, university, and external organisations
-
Assist the President of the Club in the exercise of their duties, powers and responsibilities

Liaise with the CDE Office of Student Life, CDE Deanery and respective department offices, on matters pertaining to incoming freshmen

General Secretary
-
Head the Secretarial Cell of the Club
-
Supervise and serve as an advisor to the Logistics Committee
-
Oversee and manage all Club records, documents, and correspondence across physical and digital platforms, ensuring accurate member and event registration on NUSync across CDE Club
-
Coordinate and lead the inspection of Club records by any Member who has provided at least one week’s notice
-
Prepare the Annual Report of the Club for presentation to Members
-
Work closely with the President to maintain the welfare, engagement, and cohesiveness of the CDE Club Management Committee
-
Carry out and enforce decisions made by the Presidential Cell and the Management Committee
-
Convene all General and Management Committee meetings, and submit member matters for discussion

Finance Secretary
-
Head the Finance Cell of the Club
-
Supervise and serve as the advisor to the Sales & Merchandise Committee
-
Keep up-to-date records of the Club’s accounts and financial transactions
-
Prepare and submit, on behalf of the Management Committee, the provisional annual budget of the Club for one financial period for approval by the Office of Student Affairs, within three weeks of the election of the Management Committee
-
Present at the Annual General Meeting, for the information of Members, the Club’s accounts for the preceding year
-
Receive, on behalf of the Club, any funds that may be paid to the Club. Such funds shall be collected and retained by the University in the respective account of the Club
-
Review all bills of expenditure of the Club in accordance with the approved payment approval matrix; and keep an inventory of all assets belonging to the Club
-
Work closely with the President on the budgeting, management, and reimbursement of the Club’s WBS accounts
-
Serve, alongside the President, as the final approving authority for student-level procurement, ensuring that all expenses are justified and made within the approved budget

Communications Secretary

Head the Communications Cell of the Club

Supervise and serve as the advisor to the Content Committee
-
Oversee and manage the Club’s social media accounts (Telegram, Email Blasts, Instagram), ensuring consistent communication and engagement with the CDE student body
-
Maintain and update the E4 wall regularly, keeping it current throughout the year
-
Ensure publicity for all CDE events are effectively disseminated to every student in the CDE faculty and all communications align with the Club’s branding and communication strategy to maintain consistency and appropriateness in messaging across all platform
Secretariat Cell
Logistics Director

Lead the Logistics Committee to maintain proper administration and organization within the Club

Keep and update an inventory list of all properties belonging to the Club

Facilitate equipment loans and allocate sufficient storage space to Subsidiary Clubs and Societies

Assist in managing the logistics of all NUS Student’s Design & Engineering Club events

Ensure monthly housekeeping of the Club room and oversee the organization and cleanliness of the storeroom
Internal Cell
Welfare Director

Lead the Welfare Committee to organise welfare initiatives for the CDE undergraduates

Liaise and cooperate with the NUSSU Welfare Committee on welfare initiatives that benefit CDE undergraduates
-
Monitor and support the overall physical, mental and emotional well-being of all CDE undergraduates
-
Ensure that all CDE students are supported through welfare efforts, especially those without subsidiary club representation
-
Serve as the primary point of contact between the Club, the CDE Dean’s Office and NUSSU Welfare Committee for all welfare-related matters

Sports Director

Lead the Sports Committee to organise sports-related events and initiatives for the CDE community
-
Plan and execute sporting events that foster student engagement, cohesion, and CDE spirit through healthy competition including organizing the annual Inter-Faculty Games with NUS Students’ Sports Club

Ensure that CDE athletes strive for excellence at IFG each year
-
Collaborate with relevant offices, sub-clubs, and stakeholders to create inclusive and diverse sporting opportunities throughout the academic year

Special Projects Director
-
Lead the Special Projects Committee to execute initiatives for the CDE faculty.

Plan and execute CDE Day, in collaboration with CDE subsidiary clubs and societies, ensuring meaningful engagement among students and staff.

Support the CDE Office of Student Life in co-organising student life initiatives such as Community Day and STAR Awards.

Organize ad-hoc events catering to the current student population.

Ensure that all special projects uphold the image and reputation of both the University and CDE Club.

Academic Affairs Director

Lead the Academic Affairs Committee to enhance the academic experience of CDE undergraduates

Plan and coordinate a townhall or fireside chat with CDE deanery when required, working closely with the appointed heads of CDE subsidiary clubs and societies and the CDE Office of Student Life

Plan and coordinate an annual on-boarding CDE Student Leaders' Forum at the start of the academic year, in collaboration with the Deanery and Presidents of CDE subsidiary clubs and societies

Facilitate communication with the relevant CDE offices on behalf of CDE undergraduate, using ground-up survey data
-
Ensure the smooth academic orientation of CDE freshmen by introducing resources such as EduRec, NUSMods, etc, through CDE Club’s platforms
-
Enhance the module feedback quality and response rate

Act as a student academic advisor to provide peer guidance to CDE undergraduates
Student Life Cell
Camp Director

Lead the CDE Camp Committee to execute CDE Camp

Ensure that the Vice Project Directors are trained and equipped with the relevant skills for the successful planning and execution of the camp

Oversee the entire execution of the camp, from the recruitment of Orientation Group Leaders (OGLs) to the design of camp activities, and the safe and smooth conduct of the camp itself

Adhere to the Orientation Framework guidelines set by the Office of Student Affairs and Dean of Faculty or equivalent/ Dean of Students and NUSSU

Ensure that the reputation of the University and the Club is upheld among students throughout the orientation period

RAG Director

Lead the CDE RAG Committee to execute CDE RAG Camp and the RAG Season

Ensure that the Vice Project Directors are trained and equipped with the relevant skills for the successful planning and execution of the events

Oversee the entire execution of the camp, from the recruitment of Orientation Group Leaders (OGLs) to the design of camp activities, and the safe and smooth conduct of the camp itself

Coordinate the craftmaking and performance aspects of RAG, including float construction, costume making and dance choreography
-
Ensure the safety, welfare, and meaningful engagement of all participants involved in RAG Exposure Camp, RAG Season and on RAG Day

Ensure that all community outreach activities uphold the values and image of the Club and the University

Financial Cell
Sales & Merchandise Director

Lead the Sales & Merchandise Committee to ensure that the Club’s finances remain at healthy levels

Be responsible for any revenue-generating opportunities to finance the activities of the Club

Organize and manage the sales and inventory of Faculty and Club merchandise, while developing varied merchandise plans to enhance the vibrancy of the college

Facilitate and coordinate event merchandise by the different directors
Communications Cell
Content Director
-
Lead the Content Committee to design all publicity materials of the Club
-
Maintain and update the Club’s Social Media (Instagram, Telegram)

Increase the Club’s presence on online platforms.

Curate and provide media content for CDE Club, through proficiency in short-form video creation, DSLR usage, and post-production editing

Ensure media coverage is done for all major CDE events and that content is published on relevant social media channels
External Cell
Student Engagement Director

Lead the Student Engagement Committee to involve the broader student body

Plan and execute the annual CDE Welcome Tea at the beginning of each academic year

Plan and execute student engagement events with the broader student body (e.g. CDE Freshmen Welcome, NUS Open House Student Village, CDE Open Day, Student Life Fair)

Foster stronger connection between the CDE student body and the wider NUS community through student engagement events

International Relations Director​

Lead the International Relations Committee to execute events to build positive relations between international and local students

Facilitate the integration of incoming international freshmen and exchange students into university life at NUS CDE through events connecting them with local students

Liaise with the CDE Dean’s Office, the NUS Global Relations Office, and the Office of Student Affairs’ International Students’ Coordinating Office (ISCO)

Marketing Director

Lead the Marketing Committee to network with external organisations to support the Club’s events

Actively seek out sponsors to finance the events and initiatives of the Club

Assist, advise and support the sponsorship submission documents for the Club’s events

Ensure that all sponsorships and contracts are in alignment with the interests and policies of the University and Club

Ensure that sponsorships within various committees do not conflict

Liaise with the marketing committees from other events to ensure the correct information is sent to the external companies

Build and maintain networks with external organisations to support the Club’s events and long-term partnerships

Organise ad-hoc external events in collaboration with the NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduates (CFG) and other relevant offices
NUSSU Executive Committee Representative
